Do you have a strong preference for what color your vehicle is? If you do, you're not alone. In fact, many car buyers in the greater Atlanta are any beyond have even gone as far as to say that they'd go to a different dealership if they couldn't find the color of vehicle that they want. While many people still favor the easy-to-find colors like black, white, silver, and gray, Ford is actively working on a new range of color options for their vehicles, which include interestingly named colors like Ginger Ale, Kodiak Brown, and an interesting shade of green called Frosted Glass.
We here at John Bleakley Ford are excited to see what the future holds for models like the Ford Taurus and Ford F-150 with such exciting new color options on the way. But, we realize that many of you out there are likely wonder exactly how Ford decides what colors to offer their models in, which is why we thought we'd take a minute to go over the process.
Ford actually spends quite a bit of time and resources on figuring out new color options and when to use them. They consider aspects such as nature, architecture and technology as inspirations in creating new colors for the vehicles in their lineup, and while that might seem like a lot of thought to put into the color of a car, Susan Swek, Group Chief Designer, Color & Material Design at Ford would strongly disagree. She says, "I've talked to dealers who've told me people have bought a car off the lot because of the color."1
Two new models that are set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show will feature the new colors. They are the Ford Escape and the upcoming Ford Focus Electric. The Escape will premier in the gold/green Ginger Ale color, while the Focus Electric will sport the light green Frosted Glass.
