According to the team at AutoWeek, the 2012 Ford Focus is the Most Significant vehicle of the Detroit Auto Show. While this may not necessarily be the most prestigious honor, it does bode well for the Focus considering it will not even be seen in showrooms until early next year.

The award was given by the editorial staff of AutoWeek which voted unanimously that the 2012 Focus is exactly what Ford enthusiasts have wanted. The European sportiness and styling, not to mention the new Focus assortment of technologies and overall quality, is what truly impressed the team at AutoWeek.

Ford enthusiasts have been craving the European version of the Focus for years, and finally Ford will be bringing it here as the automaker strives to produce a more singular global product lineup. With this new Ford Focus, small car consumers will enjoy not only the fresh styling, but also the combination of more affordable technologies and impressive fuel economy which Ford believes will provide an improved quality of driving even for those buying a car on a budget.

According to Ford?s group VP of Global Product Development, The new Focus is what we believe a global Ford product should be great to look at, great to sit in and great to drive. This is truly One Ford in action.  This dealer in Memphis is showing off how great the Focus with a customer video stating they chose the Ford Focus over the Nissan Sentra Memphis.

Part of this new strategy has already brought Europe's popular Ford Fiesta compact here to the U.S., which is scheduled to go on sale this summer. With the Euro-inspired Focus coming here as well, Ford fans will no longer have to crave what they can't have.
